Ali Zahid Rahim

Ali Zahid Rahim is an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan, specialising in Arbitration and Mediation. He is an international arbitration expert with a particular focus on investor-state dispute settlement and investment treaty arbitrations involving ICSID and PCA-UNCITRAL, and has also been involved in international commercial arbitrations under LCIA and ICC rules.

Ali has over fifteen years' experience representing governments and transnational corporations on foreign investment in Pakistan, advising on joint ventures, shareholder issues, project finance, infrastructure, public procurement, taxation and labour and employment law. He has led multidisciplinary teams conducting due diligence and internal corporate investigations with an FCPA angle. He previously served as Counsel at The World Bank's Legal Department in Washington, DC, where he worked on private sector development, finance and infrastructure, and Asia operational matters.

Ali holds an LL.M. from UC Berkeley School of Law (2008), an LL.B. from Pakistan College of Law (2004), and a B.A. in Political Science and English from the University of Western Ontario (2000).

He is recognised as a "phenomenal" practitioner by The Legal 500 and a recognised practitioner for commercial and corporate work by Chambers & Partners.
