Maham Ayub

Maham Ayub is a Counsel at Vellani & Vellani in Pakistan, specialising in energy law, infrastructure and PPP projects, and project finance. She has extensive experience in the energy and power sector, advising on power purchase agreements, implementation agreements, EPC and O&M contracts, privatisation of state-owned entities, and the structuring of PPP projects across roads and renewable energy.

Maham has advised the Privatization Commission of Pakistan on the privatisation of three power distribution companies and a state-owned bank; advised government ministries in the Sultanate of Oman on hospital and school rehabilitation and construction PPP projects; and prepared bidding documents for multiple solar independent power plants in Sindh, Pakistan. She has also advised independent power producers on power purchase agreements, project documentation, generation tariff applications, and regulatory matters for projects including Shams Power, Lucky Electric, Siddiqsons Energy, and a 1320MW coal power plant. In the M&A space, she has advised on cross-border acquisitions and due diligence in the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.

Maham holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London International Programmes (2010). She is a member of the Lahore Bar Association and was selected to participate in the International Visitors Leadership Programme on Renewable Energy as an Economic Driver hosted by the US State Department.
