Rubab Zainab Memon

Rubab Zainab Memon is an Associate at Vellani & Vellani in Pakistan, specialising in banking and finance law and corporate and commercial law. She advises clients across a broad range of banking, financing, and corporate transactions, including project finance, Islamic financing, and regulatory compliance matters.

Rubab has advised a consortium of lenders on an Islamic financing of PKR 133 billion for the acquisition of tower assets; on USD 100 million financing for the establishment of a soda ash manufacturing plant; on USD 33 million financing for an agri‑based manufacturing facility; and on PKR 2.85 billion working capital financing for an agri‑based manufacturing facility. In the corporate space, she has advised the Privatization Commission on the privatisation of three state‑owned power distribution companies, advised on the acquisition of shareholding of an energy company, and advised a commercial bank on setting up microfinance operations through its commercial banking channels. She has also advised on filing a maladministration complaint before the European Ombudsman and on the scope and application of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act 2020.
