Munawar Akhtar

Munawar Akhtar is a Consultant at Vellani & Vellani in Pakistan, specialising in dispute resolution, commercial litigation, and international arbitration. He was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1961 and has been in practice for over 60 years, making him one of Pakistan's most experienced legal practitioners.

Munawar has broad experience in general advisory work and litigation across all courts in Pakistan and the High Court in England, and has successfully conducted a number of large international arbitrations. He was Senior Partner of Amhurst Brown (now Howard Kennedy) in London before returning to Pakistan to establish a branch of the firm in Islamabad, which became a leading corporate practice.

Munawar holds an LL.B and was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1961. He is also qualified as a Solicitor in England.
