Faisal H. Khan

Faisal H. Khan is a Partner at Cornelius, Lane & Mufti in Pakistan, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure and project development, and international arbitration. He advises clients on general commercial matters, cross-border investments, and complex project developments, with particular expertise in the power, energy, and petrochemical sectors.

Faisal has advised PowerChina on its successful bid for the development of the 135MW Taunsa Hydro-electric Power Project; represented a Middle Eastern and Chinese consortium on joint venture and regulatory issues for infrastructure projects in Pakistan; advised Sahara Petrochemical Company on its 30% acquisition in a downstream USD 1.6 billion petrochemical project; and advised the Seller on the successful sale of a majority stake in Dandot Cement Company, subsequently advising the Buyer on the completion of the public offer for the remaining shares. He has also advised sovereign governments on ICSID arbitration related to mining leases, represented Sino-Pak Power on a 34 MW hydro-electric power project on a PPP basis, advised Middle Eastern investors on the development of a 284 km rail project in West Africa, and advised a Saudi conglomerate on setting up automobile and solar cell manufacturing projects.

Faisal holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Michigan/London School of Economics and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Pakistan and a member of the New York Bar Association.
