Munawar-us-Salam is a Partner at Cornelius, Lane & Mufti in Pakistan, specialising in energy law, infrastructure and power projects, and mergers and acquisitions. He is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and advises clients on the power sector, corporate, commercial and banking laws, taxation, intellectual property rights, arbitration, and cross-border transactions.

Munawar-us-Salam has acted as Team Leader for the legal team for the Punjab Power Project, Jhang (1263 MW RLNG-based plant) and the Lahore Matiari Transmission project. He has provided legal advisory services to National Power Parks Management (Pvt.) Limited, advised the Power Purchaser on a Tripartite Power Procurement Agreement with KESC for the supply of 650 MW, and led the team conducting the legal and regulatory due diligence of DISCOs for their transition from government‑owned entities to private management. He has also represented independent power producers in expert and LCIA arbitration proceedings, advised the World Bank Group on oil, gas, and power sectors, and advised on numerous M&A transactions, including acquisitions of stakes in listed insurance companies, cement companies, and beverages companies.

Munawar-us-Salam holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London and is a Barrister-at-Law of The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn (called in 1999). He is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and a member of the Pakistan Bar Council, Supreme Court Bar Association, Punjab Bar Council, and Lahore High Court Bar Association.
