Azwar Shakeel

Azwar Shakeel is a Senior Associate at RIAA Barker Gillette in the Lahore office, specialising in Corporate Law. His main areas of practice include corporate matters, regulatory compliance, labour disputes, legislative drafting, project development and project finance.

Azwar holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn, earning a Distinction at the Bar and receiving the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators Prize for outstanding academic achievements. He also holds an LL.M. and a Graduate Diploma in Law.

Azwar routinely contributes articles on legal and socio-political topics to newspapers including Dawn and The News, and serves as a consultant with both the International Organization for Migration and the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. He was awarded the Fakhruddin G Ebrahim Fellowship by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and appears as an expert commentator on nationally televised talk shows.
