Dilshad Bharucha

Dilshad Bharucha is a Counsel at Vellani & Vellani in Pakistan, specialising in intellectual property law, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions. She has extensive experience in trademark availability, oppositions, rectifications, infringements, and cancellation and revocation actions, advising corporate and individual clients in the pharmaceutical, consumer goods, retail, oil and gas, and information technology sectors.

Dilshad has represented major European clients in intellectual property disputes before the High Court and trademark tribunals in Pakistan, and has developed cost-effective enforcement strategies for multinational clients. She has also advised one of Pakistan's largest state-owned upstream oil and gas companies on legal governance and compliance obligations, and has advised on the acquisition of shares by a world-leading tank storage company in a local Pakistani company, including due diligence and anti-trust filings.

Dilshad holds an LL.B from Sindh Muslim Government Law College (2000) and a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property from Monash University, Australia (2015). She is a member of the Sindh Bar Council, the Karachi Bar Association, INTA, APAA, IPBA, AIPPI, and PIPRA, and serves on INTA's Geographical Indications Committee and AIPPI's Standing Committee for Trademarks.
