Mumtaz Gul

Mumtaz Gul is a Counsel at Vellani & Vellani in Pakistan, specialising in intellectual property law, with a focus on trademarks, copyrights, and domain names. She has been practising since 1997 and has extensive experience in the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.

Mumtaz specialises in acquisitions and recordals, including drafting and filing documents relating to assignments, mergers, changes of name and address, and registered user matters. She also advises on third-party conflicts, including trademark applications, oppositions, rectifications, cancellations, and infringements. She has participated in contentious proceedings before the Trade Marks Registry, the Copyright Board, the IP Tribunal Lahore, and the High Court of Sindh.

Mumtaz holds an LL.B (2002), an LL.M (2005), and an MA in International Relations (2012) from the University of Karachi. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Sindh and a member of the Sindh Bar Council, the Karachi Bar Association, and the Inter-Pacific Bar Association.
