Khushnum Muncherji

Khushnum Muncherji is a Counsel at Vellani & Vellani in Pakistan, specialising in intellectual property law, corporate and commercial law, and banking and project finance. She has been with the Firm since 1998 and has extensive experience in trademarks, copyrights, and domain names, as well as in mergers and acquisitions, finance, taxation, and foreign direct investment.

Khushnum leads teams dedicated to maintaining, protecting, and enforcing Intellectual Property rights for clients across sectors as diverse as food and beverages, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, tobacco, and banking. She has filed and pursued oppositions, rectification, and invalidation actions before the Trade Marks Registry and Copyright Office in Pakistan, and has advised on and pursued civil actions for IP infringement, passing off, and unfair competition. She has also advised a consortium of local banks on short-term financing for K-Electric Limited and on share transfers and security releases for Liberty Power Tech Limited.

Khushnum holds an LL.B from S.M. Law College, Pakistan (2000). She is a member of the Sindh High Court Bar Association, the Karachi Bar Association, PIPRA, INTA, APAA, and IPBA. She was elected as the first woman President of the Pakistan Group of the APAA from 2012 to 2014.
