Sana Shaikh Fikree

Sana Shaikh Fikree is a Counsel at Vellani & Vellani in Pakistan, specialising in intellectual property law, dispute resolution, and corporate and commercial law. She has extensive experience in trademarks, copyrights, and domain names, advising clients across diverse sectors including confectionery, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, tobacco, clothing, and IT.

Sana advises production houses on copyright protection, enforcement, and potential exposure, and has led teams dedicated to maintaining, protecting, and enforcing Intellectual Property rights for clients with extensive IP portfolios. She has filed and pursued oppositions, rectification, and invalidation actions before the Trade Marks Registry and Copyright Office in Pakistan, and has advised on and pursued civil actions for IP infringement, passing off, and unfair competition. She also advises on the enforcement of domain names through civil actions and administrative proceedings under the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy. In the corporate and commercial space, she drafts and negotiates commercial contracts including license agreements, work-for-hire agreements, production agreements, and distribution agreements, and advises on anti-trust, consumer protection, data protection, defamation, and cyber laws.

Sana holds an LL.B (2005) and a BA (2002) from Karachi University. She is a member of the Sindh Bar Council, Karachi Bar Association, PIPRA, INTA, APAA, and IPBA. She has served on INTA's Bulletins Committee and the Famous and Well-known Genericide Sub-committee, and is currently serving on INTA's Enforcement Committee (2024–2025).
