Erum Rasheed

Erum Rasheed is a Senior Associate at Vellani & Vellani in Pakistan, specialising in intellectual property law, with a focus on patents and designs. She is a registered patent agent and an Advocate of the District Courts of Karachi, Pakistan.

Erum has extensive experience in drafting patent applications and handling patent and design prosecution matters before the Intellectual Property Office. She advises on the patentability of designs, the scope of patent protection, and patenting limitations, and has drafted numerous patent oppositions. She represents multinational companies in opposition proceedings before the Intellectual Property Office and appears in Tribunals in all patents and designs litigation matters.

Erum holds an LL.B from Sindh Muslim Law College (2019), an MSc in Biochemistry (2011), and a BSc in Biochemistry (2010) from the University of Karachi. She is a member of the Sindh Bar Council, the Karachi Bar Association, the Inter-Pacific Bar Association, and the Pakistan Industrial and Intellectual Property Rights Associate (PIPRA). She is also a Standing Committee Member of the AIPPI Design Committee.
